Church Council Ministry President

"Where no counsel is, people fall: but in the multitude of counselors, there is safety"- Proverbs 11:14

Purpose

The purpose of New Mission Baptist Church's Church Council is to serve as the governing and administrative body of the congregation. Another purpose of the church council is to seek and obtain divine revelation in which they can receive inspiration to make decisions, better serve individuals and families, and plan and coordinate the work of the church. In order to be effective, the council is comprehensive in representing all church auxiliaries through their leader so that there will be a correlating, coordinating, planning, and resolving body at each of these levels. The church council has the duty of working with the church pastor in envisioning, planning, implementing, and evaluating the mission and ministry of the church. The church council also works with the pastor in planning and implementing programs of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources for the church.

Mission

The mission of the New Mission Baptist Church Council is to be Christian servants and role models that exhibit effective leadership, wisdom, and administration for the church body. We understand that visions come from God through the voices of God's people. Our mission is to pray over and protect the unity of the church, to implement the church doctrine, and to oversee the administrative functions of the church. The council will always take into consideration the thoughts, ideas, feedback and concerns of the church body when making decisions. Every decision of the council will reflect the ways in which it supports and promotes the transformational work of "making disciples.' The mission of the Church Council is to assess and shape the strategic and long-term direction of the church by reviewing and consulting on ministry goals and objectives.

Vision

"Working together to build a shared vision for discipleship and ministry" "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans."-Proverbs 16:3
